HISAT appears in Nature Methods

Daehwan Kim, Ben Langmead and Steven Salzberg publish a study in Nature Methods describing HISAT, a highly efficient software tool for aligning reads from RNA sequencing experiments. HISAT uses a novel hierarchical indexing scheme based on the FM index. Tests on real and simulated data sets show HISAT is the fastest spliced RNA-seq alignment software currently available, with equal or better accuracy than other methods.
